Engadine House Renovation
The old Engadine house was restored in its original residential section, while the barn was preserved. The main external walls and façades were maintained and covered with a new roof, supported by a contemporary single-span wooden structure. Beneath it, a generous open space was created, illuminated from above through a large south-facing window that channels light to the lower floors. Downstairs, a sequence of spaces and bedrooms are arranged, down to the old “stüva” on the ground floor with its renovated wooden stove. The spatial development, complemented by a new reinforced concrete structure at the center, introduces a continuous, open volumetric experience with natural light inside the historic shell.
